🎆 Meeting Highlights
Jack led our meeting as Toastmaster for the Evening to honor Veteran’s Day on November 11. Thank you so much for your service!
It was another full-packed meeting with over 30 attendees - 18 of which are guests who introduced themselves with food that they would be eating for the rest of their life if they could!

Veteran’s Career Day on November 18
Thank you to the members who signed up and stepped up for the functionary roles: Blair, Omar, Irene, Nithila and Albert! We have a special meeting this Wednesday - please sign-up for roles.
🙋 Sign-up for roles for our Fever and Furlough meeting on November 19 🙋♀️
📣 Janet (guest) did a 2-minute special letting us know of an upcoming Job Fair sponsored by Chamber of Commerce on November 18. See the flyer above for details.
👋 Jack delivered a revised version of his speech focusing on body language adding examples of sales pitches which worked and did not work. He reminded us that our body language speaks for itself - control it, and own it!
💗 Gautam officially introduced himself to GGTM with his (🧊 Ice Breaker🧊) speech talking about how death has helped him sharpen his focus, reshape his values and lead to deepened connections.
🏁 Harris with his Untitled speech did a humorous walkthrough of the naming conventions with the Fast and Furious franchise. He encouraged us to dream big, just like the series and got the ribbon for (🏆 Best Speaker 🏆)

Amadeo was our Table Topics Master and prepared questions which had us getting to know more about our attendees. Alex W shared that he likes using the 💯 emoji and stubbornly does not want to use the most common ones and got the ribbon for (🏆 Best Table Topic 🏆). Thank you for those who participated in Table Topics: Albert, Blair, Muhammad, Terrence and Grace.

Alex gets Best Tabel Topic! 💯

Amadeo as both Table Topics Master and General Evaluator! 🙏
Amadeo yet again led the Evaluation section introducing our evaluators and giving overall feedback about the meeting. He reminded us to be mindful of core things to run our meetings smoothly like having an agenda to show structure and to avoid dropping out last minute as this impacts the meeting flow for everyone.
Blair highlighting Harris’ comfortable and personable delivery of his speech got the (🏆 Best Evaluator 🏆) ribbon! Thank you to our other evaluators Nithila (evaluating Jack) and Kyle (evaluating Gautam).
Let’s hear some Evaluation Tidbits from them below to make our future speeches all the more effective!

Welcome to the club, Gautam!

Best Speaker last week, Best Evaluator this week! Good job Blair!

Untitled hilarious speech from Harris gets Best Speaker! Congrats Harris!
✏️ Evaluation Tidbits
Rehearse the speech to minimize reliance on notes (or the whiteboard outline)
State or give hints on what the audience will take a way from your speech. Then say it again at the end.
Open with a strong hook like asking an engaging box-office trivia question!
🏝️ GGTM Beyond the Board Room
Get to know our Golden Gate Toastmasters outside of our weekly Wednesday club meetings at the Chamber of Commerce Board Room.
🙊 GGTM Play Day at Golden Gate Park 🎡
On November 8, we spent a miraculously warm Saturday afternoon in Golden Gate Park - PLAYING! Facilitated by Sheila and Helen, a number of GGTM members, guests, family and friends had a picnic, introduced ourselves with an action, passed the red ball, red bull, bread bowl, ninja star and baby around, flexed our memory, rhythm and big booties, ran around to be in between our enemies and defenders, delivered one-word-at-a-time stories and interviews about chicken, Donnie and pasta and counted as a team up to 30 relying solely on vibes! 😉
Looks like we met the only metric of the day: make sure that there is laughter every ten minutes! 😄
Thank you all for coming out and bringing the fun with your all-in participation! Looking forward to the next outside-of-the-meeting-room event! 🙏
