☑️ Improvements on our Feedback Form
We're continuously reviewing our existing processes to ensure they are both effective and user-friendly. Currently, we're exploring ways to improve the speaker evaluation form so that our speakers receive more valuable feedback from the audience. At the same time, it's a great chance for all of us to enhance our feedback-giving skills. Stay tuned for updates from the officer team!

📈 October 1 Meeting Highlights
Thank you Nithila for capturing and describing the events of the meeting beautifully as Note Taker, all we did was copy-paste it! 😉

Theme of Wednesday's meeting was New Perspectives. Our VPE Kyle stepped up as Toastmaster with a theme inspired by his travels to Asia and different parts of the US - inspiring us to break out of our Bay Area Bubble!
Thank you to our members who signed-up for roles: Nick, Agasthian, Omar, Nithila, and Michelle.
Jack's speech "Your Voice is Your Power" showed us that "it's not what you say - it's how you say it." He gave advice on how to engage with people as a speaker to avoid "five minutes feeling like five hours."
At 5:10 pm before the Toastmasters meeting, future (🏆 Best Speaker 🏆) Harris had absolutely no speech. A true Toastmaster, he showed up to the meeting with 15 minutes worth of preparation and gave a raw and witty speech that explored the intersection of three key topics: cats, longevity, and meditation.

Table Topics encouraged us to continue exploring new perspectives! Guest Gautam explained his job from the perspective of a child. Nick shared the perspective of new parents traveling to Hawaii. Blair entertained us all with his chaotic nighttime ritual brushing the teeth of his 3(!) cats - Sherlock, Rutherford, and Reggie. Anika talked about swapping places with her parents and Zoey shares the audiobook which brought her here!
(🏆 Best Table Topics 🏆) storyteller Omar confessed he has a new perspective on swimming after barely surviving snorkeling in Thailand.

Omar gets Best Table Topic ribbon!
(🏆 Best Table Topics 🏆) Scott applauded Harris for his growth in Toastmaster over the last 12-15 months, and that tonight's slap-dash speech is proof he has developed a strong toolkit for public speaking!
Thank you Tavisan for giving your feedback on Jack’s speech. Thank you Amadeo for leading the Evaluation section as General Evaluator!

🤓 Through the Eyes of the TTM (Table Topics Master)
Longtime Toastmaster and recent-ish GGTM member Jess takes on the Table Topics Master role for the first time for the club and had volunteers telling stories from a different angle!

Jess led us to see (and talk about) things in another angle!
This was my first time as Table Topics Master for a GGTM meeting. Table Topics Master is my favorite role! I enjoy coming up with fun questions related to the meeting theme, and using them as a chance to get to know members and guests.
The meeting theme was "New Perspectives" and since we had so much fun answering Table Topics from our partner's perspective last meeting, why not continue the fun? Gautam described his job from the perspective of a child, and Nithila described a typical day from the perspective of her co-worker's dog.
The Table Topics Master typically reads a question, then calls on an unsuspecting audience member to keep everyone on their toes. This time I made the last minute decision to read a question, then ask for a volunteer, which led to some truly memorable answers! Blair told us about brushing his 3 cats' teeth, Nick told us about taking his baby on vacation for the first time, and Omar reminded us to always wear a life jacket.
Shoutout to everyone who volunteered - including our 3 new members Gautam, Blair and Ankita!
