✈️💼🌳🗣️April 16th Club Meeting Highlights

Last Wednesday, we were enriched with stories of finding home and community around the world, and how better communicate with each other.

During our meeting we:

  • 💫Gene gave a two-minute special on the Event Horizon of characters in stories; the point in which there is no coming back from morally.

  • 🌳 Amanda told us about her many stories of fundraising for the protected rainforests of South America. (🏆 Best Prepared Speech🏆)

  • ✈️ Mark shared how he fell in love with the city of Puerto Vallarta and how it’s now become a second home for him. (🏆 Best Prepared Speech🏆)

  • 🗣️ We learned from Jack about the 4 different communication styles and when they can be applicable in different scenarios.

  • 💼Avash gave his Icebreaker at this week’s meeting, sharing his stories of different careers he’s had over the years, moving from South Africa to America, hardships of his life and the importance of public speaking.

  • For Table Topics, we had another tie this week, having both Carnell and Alberto win. (🏆Best Table Topics🏆)

  • 🗣️ Heard Albert’s evaluation of Avash’s speech, giving valuable feedback on her performance (🏆Best Evaluator🏆).

    • Thank you to our other evaluators: Katie (evaluating Amanda), Mia (evaluating Jack), and Brandon (evaluating Mark).

    • Thank you, Carnell, for leading the Evaluation section.
