The Reverse Meeting
esreveR nI tI seoD MTGG
Dear Fellow Toastmaster!
This week, Golden Gate Toastmasters had its annual reverse meeting! Instead of the standard Toastmasters meeting format, we started with evaluations, then table topics, and the prepared speeches last. Prepared speakers had to match their speeches to their evaluations while table topics takers had to speak based on the Table Topic Masterโs feedback. An unconventional meeting, to say the least, but a fun time all the same!
Big shoutout to our session masters for leading this reverse meeting! | ![]() Kyle (Toastmaster) |

This past Wednesday, Toastmaster Kyle led us through the many vicissitudes (word of the day!) that came with our Reverse Meeting. The meeting ran from end to beginning, starting with evaluations for speeches we had not even heard yet! This mirrored format gave us an opportunity to focus on the theme of the meeting: reflections.
Thank you to everyone who took on roles to run the meeting: Monika, Shubam, Nithila, Albert, Jack, Karishma, Alex, and Omar
During our meeting:
Amanda evaluated Tavisan's upcoming speech, letting us know what to look forward to
(๐Best Evaluator๐)
Thank you to our other evaluator, Gene
For Table Topics, Albert gave us great advice on how to survive the family group chat. The most important rule: Just don't say anything
(๐Best Table Topic๐).
Tavisan shared the story of his first cigarette and, along with it, the importance of setting a good example as a father.
One of our guests, Hannah, stepped in to give an impromptu speech about her high school goal of performing in a gritty drama and how she's pushing to achieve her new goals today. (๐Best Prepared Speech๐)
Jack gave a two-minute special on the American dream and the struggle to chase that dream while others in the world suffer from violence.

The ribbon winners from the meeting!
